Bharat Fittings and valves
A camlock is a coupling which means it can connect 2 hose or pipes together. It doesn’t need any tools or disconnect the 2 halves to fit into the pipes so it’s easy to use. It is one of the most popular couplings to use and it’s one of the cheapest. They can be used in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, oil, gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and within military applications. There are different camlock styles, for instance there is a male adapter with a female thread, female coupler with a male thread, coupler with a shank (hose barb), coupler with a female thread, adapter with a shank, adapter with a male thread, dust cap, and dust plug. It’s important to know what each style is so you know which type is right for the job. There are 5 different materials that the camlock is made of, each used for a different purpose: stainless steel, polypropylene, and nylon, brass, and aluminum alloy. Stainless steel has good strength and durability and can withstand high temperatures and or any corrosive liquid or chemical, but is also expensive to make. Polypropylene, which is cost effective but not as strong as metal fittings, but is durable and can withstand harsh chemicals, used in agriculture and industrial settings. Nylon is much like polypropylene, but is able to resist high humidity levels. Brass is able to resist corrosion and damage but over time, useful for water, coolants, gasolines, hydraulic oils, and petroleum products. Aluminum alloy is light and it is the most expensive compared to the others. It is mostly used in water, hydraulic oil, and petroleum products.
